Damien D’Amours, Ph.D.
- Principal Investigator, Cell Cycle Regulation and Chromosome Structure research unit, IRIC
- Associate Professor, Department of Pathology and Cell Biology, Faculty of Medicine, Université de Montréal
Research topic and relevance
Damien D’Amours and his team study the mechanisms that regulate cell division. In particular, the research aims to shed light on how cells divide their genome during cell multiplication and how they repair their chromosomes in the presence of damage to the DNA. The aim of this research is to foster the development of drugs that limit the ability of cancer cells to multiply uncontrollably during tumor formation.
