After earning his degree in immunology at the Université de Montréal, Étienne Gagnon joined Michel Desjardins’ lab in 2000 to carry out his doctoral studies in cell biology.

After completing his Ph.D., he joined Kai Wucherpfennig’s team for his postdoctoral fellowship at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, affiliated with Harvard Medical School. He joined the IRIC team in 2011.

Cancer Immunobiology

Etienne Gagnon’s team seeks to decipher the molecular mechanisms that result in certain tumors preventing the immune system from functioning correctly. T lymphocytes are at the heart of his work.
