Sébastien Carréno obtained his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Université Toulouse III in 2001. Following postdoctoral training at the University of California, Berkeley, under the supervision of David G. Drubin, he joined François Payre’s team in 2005 to continue his training at Université de Toulouse.

IRIC finally recruited him in 2008 as a Principal Investigator, Cellular Mechanisms of Morphogenesis Research Unit. Since September of 2017, he has also occupied the position of Director, Academic Affairs at IRIC.

Cellular Mechanisms of Morphogenesis during Mitosis and Cell Motility

Sébastien Carréno and his team focus on the framework of cells, and more specifically on their cytoskeleton. The latter’s remodeling participates not only in cell division and motility, but is also involved in tumor development and growth.
