Prepare your stay in Montreal

  • Immigration-Québec and Immigration-Canada: official websites of the Governments of Quebec and Canada for foreign nationals wishing to immigrate or to study in Quebec or elsewhere in Canada. These websites contain all the details on the immigration process and on the various steps you need to accomplish before your arrival and during your stay. These websites also provide information for preparing an application for permanent residence.
  • Study in Montreal – International students portal: this website offers a range of information about living and studying in Montreal. It also offers a virtual bulletin board that allows you to view and display various categories of personal ads (e.g. housing, furniture, appliances, car pooling).
  • Immigrer.com: this website offers a communication platform for those who want to live in Quebec or elsewhere in Canada.
  • Conférence des recteurs et des principaux des universités du Québec: this website provides information on the pursuit of graduate studies in Quebec and on the preparation of your stay. In collaboration with the Conférence régionale des élus (CRÉ) of Montreal, the CREPUQ  also offers the Accueil-Plus service which aims at offering a warm welcome to foreign students at the moment of their arrival at Montreal-Trudeau Airport (please note that this service is only available during the fall term).
  • Montreal-Trudeau Airport: official website for Montreal-Trudeau Airport serving the Greater Montreal area.
  • Régie de l’assurance-maladie du Québec (RAMQ): official website of the RAMQ providing guidelines for submitting an application for the Quebec medical insurance card. All foreign postdoctoral fellows must apply to the RAMQ insurance card.
