The Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer Student Association (AEIRIC) is pleased to invite students (BSc, MSc, PhD), postdoctoral fellows and employees from Université de Montréal (and other universities) to its second Professional Development Workshop.

This year, the event will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014 under the theme Communication and Team Management for Scientists”, at the Jean-Coutu Pavilion of Université de Montréal.

Please note that registration is mandatory and that seating is limited. Registrations will be handled on a first come first serve basis.

Registration deadline: September 19, 2014

Why host a professional development workshop?

The reason is simple: current science training programs do not adequately prepare for the actual challenges faced in academic and private research. Notably, important skills such as leadership, “soft skills” or project management receive little to no attention. The purpose of this upcoming event is to assist participants in improving their expertise in certain professionals skills considered valuable assets in a research environment. In addition, those workshops are followed by a series of short career presentations in which professionals from different fields will share their experience and career path.
