Phosphoinositides are membrane-bound signalling molecules that regulate cell proliferation and survival, cytoskeletal reorganization and vesicular trafficking by recruiting effector proteins in proximity to cellular membranes. Several phosphatases and kinases regulating the homeostasis of phosphoinositides have been implicated in diverse diseases, including cancer.

Hosted by the Université de Montréal's Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer (IRIC), the “International Symposium on Phosphoinositide Biology, Signalling and Cancer” will give an opportunity for leading scientists in the field to share their cutting-edge research in cancer-related biological problems, more specifically the implication of phosphoinositide signalling and its deregulation in cancer development.

The symposium will cover the following fields of study:

  1. PI3K/PTEN signalling and cancer
  2. Phosphoinositide and cell morphogenesis
  3. Phosphoinositide and intracellular trafficking
