Richard and Edith Strauss Foundation: renewed support of $300,000!

Published on May 26, 2023

Since 2019, with generous support from the Richard and Edith Strauss Foundation, researchers and their teams have been able to further investigate pediatric leukemia and acute myeloid leukemia (AML), pushing the boundaries of science on these types of cancer.

A donation of $200,000 will support the IRIC Pediatric Leukemia Project of Principal Investigator Brian Wilhelm of IRIC and Dr. Sonia Cellot, pediatric hematologist at CHU Sainte-Justine. A donation of $100,000 will also be given to Dr. Guy Sauvageau’s IRIC Chemogenomics Research Fund.

Traditional therapeutic approaches of chemotherapy and radiotherapy are not very specific and are often accompanied by harmful effects. This is why IRIC researchers are working to acquire new knowledge to better understand the mechanisms of cancer and develop personalized therapeutic approaches.

Thank you to the Richard and Edith Strauss Foundation for supporting innovative research at IRIC in the fight against cancer. This unwavering support is invaluable in helping our investigators to carry out their research and make progress in the fight against cancer.
