IRIC marks International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Published on February 20, 2024

On February 10, IRIC was present at the Centre des sciences de Montréal for Women and Girls in Science Day, to mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. This 7th edition of the event drew a record crowd, with over 3,300 curious onlookers on hand to discover different scientific disciplines.

More than a dozen IRIC outreach speakers, both students and employees, were on hand to lead scientific workshops on the genetics of bitterness, the extraction of DNA from strawberries, and the observation of two model organisms: Drosophila and the nematode C. elegans.

Over 600 people came to the IRIC booth to interact with our dynamic and inspiring scientists.
