Major Research Grants at IRIC

It is with great pleasure that IRIC highlights the recipients of major grants offered by partner organizations. A well-deserved recognition for the Institute’s research teams, who certainly have the wind in their sails!

The Terry Fox Research Institute
- David Knapp’s team: $1 million over 5 years for its project “New Terry Fox Frontiers for Strategies to Divert Malignant Potentials in the Treatment of Acute Leukemia” as part of the TFRI Project Grants program.
Cancer Research Society
- Geneviève Deblois’ team: $130,000 over two years for her project “Investigating the Role of Bromodomain Proteins in Breast Cancer Chemotherapy Response” as part of the 2024 CRS Operating Grant Competition.
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (in partnership with the Cancer Research Society)
- David Knapp’s team: $200,000 over two years for its project: “Precise HLA gene editing to extend transplants to underserved patients” under the heading “Operating Grants.”

- Trang Hoang’s team: $200,000 over two years for her project “Revealing pharmacologic inhibitors in T-ALL acting on MYC-GPS” under the heading “Operating Grants.”
