On March 28, IRIC and BistroBrain invite you to Pub Le Sainte-Élisabeth for an evening of scientific popularization. Four of the Institute’s graduate students will be on hand to present their research work. It’s the perfect opportunity to learn about recent advances in cancer research and chat with the next generation of scientists!

February 10, 2024 Women and girls of science
On February 10, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Montreal Science Center will be hosting Women and Girls of Science, an event that has been held every mid-February for the past few years, in conjunction with the UN day of the same name. The aim of this day is to ignite – or maintain – the flame for science and technology among young people, especially girls.

November 16, 2023 Go behind the scenes of cancer research!
The 4th edition of the event Dans les coulisses de la recherche sur le cancer will take place next Thursday, November 16, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer (IRIC) of the University of Montreal. For this occasion, 18 members of the IRIC student community will share their passion for science with 150 people from the public, in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Hosted by Catherine Perrin, host of the show Feu vert on ICI PREMIÈRE and author, this friendly evening constitutes a unique opportunity to learn more about the subjects that interest our research teams and to discuss with the next generation of scientists.

19—20 October, 2023 A scientific symposium with an anniversary flavour!
IRIC will be holding an international scientific symposium on October 19 and 20, bringing together members of the Institute’s large community, past and present, to discuss cancer research. The theme of the Symposium will be “Two decades of innovative science at IRIC”, and it will also be an opportunity for everyone to officially mark IRIC’s 20th anniversary at the Université de Montréal.

April 27, 2023 Audace 2023: a special edition for IRIC’s 20th anniversary

Since 2014, IRIC has been organizing the Audace benefit event, which annually contributes to funding breakthroughs in the fight against cancer.
To mark its in-person return and to highlight 20 years of scientific advances, Audace is back in an improved and revitalized version that will encourage meetings and discussions between IRIC’s allies and various stakeholders.

April 12, 2023 IRIC among the participating institutions of Science POP!
Launched in the fall of 2022, the pan-Quebec science communication contest Science POP will take off in April 2023. The fifteen participating institutions, including IRIC, will hold their own internal competitions at the end of which the finalists will advance to the provincial final, scheduled for May 27 and 28, 2023. Science POP proposes three types of challenges: popularization, valorization and mobilization.

9—12 February, 2023 FOCUS: IRIC Benefit Exhibition
In the wake of IRIC’s 20th anniversary, a new initiative will be launched. From February 9 to 12, 2023, the FOCUS exhibition will showcase scientific works created by the Institute’s community at Projet Casa, a Montreal art gallery founded by long-time donators of IRIC: Danielle Lysaught and Paul Hamelin. Through this initiative, IRIC wishes to showcase the creative talents of the next generation and present science from an artistic perspective.
