Six Fonds de recherche du Québec scholarships and grants awarded to IRIC members for 2025-2026.

The Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) is offering $38.2 million in training awards, $13.6 million in career awards and $10.8 million in research grants for a total of $62.6 million in new awards for 2025-2026.

IRIC is proud to count several of its members among the winners of these competitions.

Master’s scholarship

  • Emma Teszner, laboratory of Matthew Smith: $20,000 scholarship for her project “Elucidating direct mediators of Hippo signaling and RAS-induced proliferation”.

Doctoral fellowships

  •  Yousef Alaessa, laboratory of Geneviève Deblois: $100,000 grant for his project “Characterization of reciprocal regulation between cellular metabolism and Bromodomain proteins in triple-negative breast cancer”.
  • Ann-Sophie Gironne, Geneviève Deblois and Sébastien Lemieux laboratories: $100,000 grant for her project “Role of transposable elements in the response to chemotherapy in triple-negative breast cancer”.
  • Faustine Gorse, Sylvie Mader laboratory: $25,000 grant for her project entitled “FOXA1 and FOXC1, specific regulators of normal and tumoral mammary subpopulations”.
  • Gabrielle Martineau, Guy Sauvageau’s laboratory: $100,000 grant for her project “The role of epigenetic modifications and telomere erosion in the age-related functional decline of hematopoietic stem cells”.
  • Eve Petit, laboratory of Delphine Bouilly: $100,000 grant for her project “Development of graphene-based biosensors for microfluidic analysis of individual cells”.
