Julie Lessard and David Knapp awarded in CIHR’s latest competition

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) recently awarded Project Grants for the Spring 2025 competition. This program aims to support original ideas with the potential to advance basic and applied health knowledge.
The program has funded 435 research projects across the country, representing a total investment of $411 million. One project involving IRIC teams is a recipient of these prestigious grants.

- Julie Lessard, Director of the Chromatin Structure and Stem Cell Biology Research Unit, receives funding of $1,128,376 over five years for the project “Deciphering SMARCD1’s Role in Governing Lineage Decisions in Hematopoiesis”. David Knapp, Director of the Cellular Engineering research unit, is co-investigator on the project.
