The Quebec Clinical Research Club awards an honorary prize to Michel Bouvier

At the annual meeting of the Quebec Clinical Research Club (CRCQ), Michel Bouvier was awarded the 2025 Scientific Mentor Award. This honor was bestowed upon him in recognition of his exceptional qualities as a mentor, his commitment to numerous students, the quality of his teaching, and his passion for nurturing the next generation.
During his career, Michel Bouvier supervised the work of 37 undergraduate interns, 16 Master’s I and II students from Europe, 21 M.Sc. students, 41 PhD students, 2 M.Sc.-Ph.D.-MD students, for a total of 80 graduate and postgraduate students, as well as 46 postdoctoral fellows from 28 different countries. His laboratory has also hosted 36 visiting students and 7 visiting professors/scientists. Over the years, he has also supervised the work of 18 research assistants and associates, 8 of whom still work in his laboratory.
In addition, over the past 40 years, he has taught thousands of students in 37 undergraduate courses. The vast majority of the graduate students and postdoctoral fellows he has supervised have pursued scientific careers as professors, researchers, and administrators in both academia and industry, including some who hold positions as department heads or research center directors.
