Coup de cœur- January 2026

Published on January 14, 2026

The favorite of the month for January goes to… (drum roll) 🥁

Melina Narlis, laboratory Technician at the Histology Core Facility

Always ready to help her colleagues, Melina is indispensable to the histology platform: “Melina, with her nimble fingers, works behind the scenes to deliver perfect slides for research projects here and elsewhere, and is always willing to help users of the histology platform with her advice! ”

Join us in honoring Melina Narlis!

ONE-ON-ONE

Tell us about a professional achievement that makes you proud.

With the expertise and experience I have built up over the years, I am proud to contribute to IRIC’s research group projects. I love my job; it’s truly a passion. What’s more, I am lucky to work with colleagues I adore; together, we make a great team. I think I am known for my good humor and my ability to listen, but it makes me uncomfortable to talk about myself (laughs).

“Her smile, her enthusiasm, and her funny clumsiness bring joy to everyone around her. She works hard at work, at home with her children, and at Cepsum on the gym mat!”

Do you have a memorable anecdote related to IRIC?

My anecdote isn’t necessarily related to IRIC, but I’ve been doing histology for 25 years now, which is no small feat! I have always been drawn to histology, and there was an opportunity at IRIC. I have been working at the Institute since 2009. It is a job that requires a great deal of attention to detail, patience, and dexterity.

“For all these reasons, she is an exceptional colleague whom we look forward to seeing every morning at work! And for those who don’t know her yet, come and see her on the 3rd floor in room 3440!”
