Coup de cœur- March 2026
Published on March 25, 2026
The Coup de Coeur of the month goes to… (drumroll) Eugénie Goupil, Research Advisor in the laboratory of Jean-Claude Labbé, Principal Investigator of the Cell Division and Differentiation Research Unit.
“In addition to her positive energy, Eugénie is highly competent and meticulous in everything she undertakes, whether in research or in her many passions. Fundamental research is very fortunate to have someone so dedicated.”
“Eugénie is, without a doubt, a favorite at the Institute. She is the most dedicated and generous person I know.”
“Several generations of students have now benefited from her knowledge and learned from her. Her reputation extends far beyond the second floor—people come from all over to consult with her!”

Do you have a memorable anecdote related to IRIC?
I was there at that famous Christmas party when Lynda was dancing on the bar (laughs). In fact, every year, a colleague and I—whose name I’ll keep to myself—play a song by La Compagnie Créole, and it’s always a hit.
What is your wish for the future of cancer research?
