Coup de cœur- April 2026

Published on April 22, 2026

Virginie is fearless. She handles adversity with ease and stays calm to find solutions to any problems that arise. With her formidable efficiency, she manages her many projects with a masterful hand. Empathetic by nature, she takes an interest in others and doesn’t hesitate to take the time needed to ensure everyone is on the same page.

“No matter the pressure or deadlines, Virginie always puts the people in front of her first. She rolls up her sleeves without complaint and willingly lends a hand when needed. We’re lucky to be able to count on her every day!”

Tell us about a professional achievement that makes you proud.

I’m very proud to be taking over Academic Affairs at IRIC. Continuing to learn, taking on new challenges, and contributing to such a dedicated community is a major source of motivation for me.

Do you have a memorable anecdote related to IRIC?

When I transitioned from student to employee, I moved from the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor. For the first few months, I would often stop reflexively on the 2nd floor before heading back up right away. Old habits die hard (laughs).

What is your hope for the future of cancer research?

I hope that government institutions will fully recognize the importance of the next generation of scientists in research laboratories, particularly by increasing the number of scholarships available to students and by raising their funding levels.
