Nearly $2 million in funding for the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment at IRIC

The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) recently announced the results of its John R. Evans Leaders Fund competition. This program enables universities to attract and retain world-class researchers in Canada by providing them with state-of-the-art infrastructure. The CFI’s funding is supplemented by the Government of Quebec and other partners. Two IRIC projects have been awarded grants through this program.

Congratulations to our teams!

  • Gregory Emery, director of the Vesicular Trafficking and Cell Signalling Research Unit, has secured $1.07 million in funding for the project “High-resolution Spatiotemporal Live Imaging to Decode Mechanisms of Collective Cell Migration in Vivo and Cancer Cells.”
  • Olivier Mailhot, director of the Computational Drug Discovery Research Unit, and Anne Marinier, director of the Drug Discovery Unit, have secured $854,000 in funding for the project “Closed-loop Ligand Discovery Infrastructure for Small-molecule Antibiotics and Cancer Modulators.”
