Éric Bonneil, 1st prize winner of the 2019 FRQS Research Professionals Excellence Awards

The Manager of IRIC’s Proteomics Core Facility, Éric Bonneil, is the 1stprize winner of the 2019 Fonds de Recherche du Québec – Santé Research Professionals Excellence Awards.
All of the Research Professionals Excellence Awards, handed out by the three Fonds de recherche du Québec (Health, Society and Culture, Nature and Technologies), rewards the involvement of research professionals in all three of those fields.

Éric Bonneil is being recognized for his remarkable career and his contribution to the advancement of research. A graduate of the Université de Montréal, he has a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry and carried out postdoctoral studies at the NRC Institute for Biological Sciences in Ottawa. He has been head of IRIC’s Proteomics Core Facility, which offers services to researchers from around the world, since 2004.
He has led several projects aimed at improving the performance of proteomics analyses techniques. His work on the use of ionic mobility will result in enhancing sensitivity for identifying tumor-specific antigens from noncoding regions of the genome, one of the research avenues for developing a cancer vaccine.
