May 2, 2019 The eIF4E factor reveals itself in a new way
This discovery made by a team of IRIC Investigators could make its way into cell biology textbooks. The laboratory of Katherine L.B. Borden recently published a study in Cell Reports revealing a new role for the eIF4E factor: actively participating in the cleavage of the terminal end of messenger RNAs in order to accelerate their conversion to protein.

April 30, 2019 IRIC Great Challenges against Cancer Fund, an initiative of Dr. Robert Patenaude
For more than 10 years, hundreds of people have taken part in the Défis du Parc and the IRIC Great Challenges against Cancer, have racked up many kilometres to support cancer research efforts, and raised close to $250,000 to recruit and train the next generation of scientists.

Researchers from the University of Copenhagen and the team of Michel Bouvier at IRIC published a study suggesting a new avenue for developing drugs against obesity. The results of this research was published in the journal PNAS.
