After obtaining his PhD in molecular pharmacology from the Université de Montréal in 1988, Sylvain Meloche completed a postdoctoral fellowship in immunology at the Montreal Clinical Research Institute, followed by a second fellowship in biochemistry at the Université de Nice in France.

In 1992, he began his teaching career and established his research activities at the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal. He is a founding member of IRIC and principal investigator of the Cell Signaling and Growth Research Unit. Sylvain Meloche is also a full professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal.

Signalling and Cell Growth

Sylvain Meloche and his team study the signalling mechanisms that control cell division, the differentiation and survival of normal and cancer cells. The research aims to identify novel therapeutic targets for cancer treatment based on these mechanisms.
